CARRICK CALLED UP Michael Carrick has been called up to the England squad for the two qualifiers for Euro 2008 against Macedonia and Croatia. The Manchester United midfielder should fid himself very close to the first team, with McClaren's favoured defensive midfielder Owen Hargreaves out with a broken leg. Carrick faces competition from Scott Parker ad Phil Neville fo the central Midfield role, but is being tipped to star.
